Faridabad girl Srishti Rana is Miss Asia Pacific World 2013

Miss India runner up of 2013, Srishti Rana has won the title of Miss Asia Pacific World 2013 in Busan, Korea.
In a statement that Srishti gave immediately after winning the crown said, “This is a dream come true! I am very proud of myself right now and still can't believe that I have won the crown. I have a long list of people to thank for their support but to name a few; I would want to thank God, my family, friends, Mr. Vineet Jain- MD Times Group and the Miss India Organization for their endless support. This wouldn't have been possible without any of them. I am so delighted at this moment”
Vineet Jain, Managing Director, Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd. said at the historic achievement, "This is a great moment of pride for the country. With this monumental win, Srishti has recorded her name in the annals of history with the likes of Dia Mirza, Zeenat Aman, Namrata Shirodkar and Tara Anna Fonseca. It's a moment of triumph for every Indian. My heartiest congratulations go out to Srishti for this enormous achievment. Miss India organization strives for the best talent in the country to be showcased on an international platform."
Last year the same title was won by India’s Himangini Singh Yadu. For India it is two victories in a row.
Shristi is a 21 years old graduate in Journalism and Mass communication. On Wednesday, in the contest Srishti was crowned by last year’s winner Himangini. Miriam George from Egypt stood second and Evgenia Klishina from Kazakhstan stood third in the pageant. There were 49 contestants at the contest.
Srishti is the fifth Indian female after Zeenat Aman, Tara Anne Fonseca, Dia Mirza and Himangini Singh Yadu to win this coveted crown of Miss Asia Pacific World. Zeenat Aman won the crown in 1970, Tara won the crown in 1973, Dia won in 2000 and Himangini won last year. Actress Namrata Shirodkar was the first runner up in the contest in 1993.
Shristi Rana is from Faridabad in Haryana. She did her schooling from Modern Vidya Niketan in Faridabad. She later attended Manav Rachna International University.
Shristi is 5 feet and 7 inches tall.
Shristi also won the award for the best costume. She was wearing designer-duo Falguni and Shane Peacock's gown. The gown was depicting the national bird, peacock.
On Twitter, Shristi received a number of wishes. A twitter wish read, “Congratulations Srishti Rana for making India proud.”
Another one read, “Srishti Rana mesmerized the jury and the audience with her poise, beauty and intelligence and came out as a winner.”
